Chosen by NASA

OK, so I wasn't the only one chosen, but I wasn't rejected either!

I received a link from Gayle Ryan a while back to apply for an opportunity to be on site at NASA for the launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket bringing supplies to the International Space Station.

The letter included this paragraph: The two/three-day event will provide you the opportunity to tour NASA facilities at Kennedy Space Center, meet and interact with engineers, technicians, and other team members from Kennedy, view and take photographs of SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on the launch pad, meet fellow space enthusiasts who are active on social media, meet members of NASA's social media teams, and hopefully view the launch of SpaceX Falcon 9, which is scheduled to lift off at 2:38 a.m. EDT on Sept. 19th.

So, this will be exciting. I am looking to arrive the morning of the 18th to tour the facility and such and stick around for the launch.

NASA has always been the example I would use to show how Twitter and other social media was used correctly.

Follow NASA on Twitter (@NASA, @NASASocial, @SpaceX, @ExploreSpaceKSC, @NASAKennedy, @NASA_LSP,), Facebook (NASA, NASA Kennedy, SpaceX, and Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex) or Google+ (NASA, NASAKennedy, SpaceX, Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex) where they will post updates and reminders about the event.  The hashtag for the event is #NASASocial & #SpaceX4. Set those hashtags in your saved searches and check back often all day on the 18th of Sept.
See http://www.nasa.gov/connect for all of the ways you can connect with NASA.
